FAQ
How are they constructed?
Our beams are manufactured through a hand-picked inventory. Once the material is selected, they are sized and assembled by our two master carpenters. Once cut and planed to size, they are manufactured, filled, sanded, brushed, and branded for shipment. Our edges are a 45º miter, glued and nailed during assembly. For custom lengths greater than 24 feet, we lap joint two pre-engineered Smart Beams together with unmatched precision.
How can they be used around a structural beam?
Our beams are made with an immeasurable quality control system as a finishing product, given the internal dimensions of a structural component.
What finishes are available?
We offer a saw mark finish, a smooth finish, and a wire brushed finish.
How do they compare in cost to a solid beam?
Our pre-engineered Smart Beams, when compared to solid beams, are more efficient, more cost effective, and more stable.
Is there any routine maintenance required?
On an interior application, Smartbeams can be left natural and unfinished. Exterior beams need to be finished with an oil base. Follow directions on your particular type of finish and follow up with maintenance as recommended.
Are they structural?
Any of our beams can be made internally structural depending on the application.
Can they be used indoors as well as outdoors?
Indoor and outdoor under cover, for now.
